Korean shipbuilders clinch huge LNG contracts

South Korea’s three largest shipbuilders, Hyundai, Daewoo and Samsung, have clinched orders from a Qatari gas producer to build LNG carriers worth more than $10 billion. The three yards will be supplying a total of 44 new gas tankers by 2010 to meet the requirements of Qatar Liquefied Gas II.
