Giant crane boosts Hanjins productivity

Hanjin Heavy Industries in South Korea has installed a 3,000 tonne lift gantry crane built by IHI in Japan. This new crane is needed to cope with newbuilding demand of 10,000TEU container ships and the enlargement of fabricated blocs which will be increased by 50%. In the case of a 5,000TEU boxship, the construction period for the hull will be reduced from two months to 1.6 months.
