Hyundai wins more post-Panamax boxships

Hyundai Heavy Industries has secured an order for five 8,600TEU container ships at the price of $ 650 million and ship particulars are 334m in length, 42.8m in breadth and 24.8m in depth. A 68,589kW main diesel engine will give a speed of 25.6 knots. Three will be built by HHI and two by Hyundai Samho and delivery is scheduled from May to October 2008.

Hyundai Mipo Dockyard won a $259.5 million contract for six 1,800TEU container ships from Conti with delivery during 2008.
