Far East shipbuilders win more boxships
Following their recent order for five 8,200TEU container ships, Yang Ming, the Taiwanese carrier, has now placed a contract with China Shipbuilding Corporation, for five 4,250TEU vessels with the same shipbuilder. The lead ship will be delivered during the third quarter 2008 and will be deployed on the Asia/North America route.
Hyundai Mipo Dockyard wins eight 1,800TEU container ships at a total cost of $325.2 million from Reederei Claus-Peter Offen for delivery during 2008.
