A&P bidding for CVF work

With the possibility of 5 super blocks to be constructed for the Royal Navy?s CVF future carrier programme, the A&P Dry Docks at Hebburn, Southampton and Birkenhead offer ideal facilities for a portion of this work. In particular, the Hebburn facility with major fabrication capability alongside the dry dock, makes A&P confident that they can play a significant role in supporting the DPA to achieve an optimum solution for the build strategy.

A spokesman for A&P Group said the “A&P have been identified by the MoD as one of the organisations who have the people, experience and facilities to bring the project to a successful conclusion by 2015. We have been working with the various CVF project teams for two years and now look forward to the next stage of bidding for build and integration packages. Our dry dock and fabrication facilities located in traditional shipbuilding and repair areas around the UK will enable the programme to utilise vital engineering skills to the benefit the industry, the regions, the Navy and the country. A&P recognise that the programme is a multi-company project and we look forward to working with all aspects of supply chain to deliver these two ships to the Royal Navy”.
