Seastate looking to the future
Seastate, the Australian supplier of complete motion control solutions to luxury yachts, high speed ferries, military and para-military markets, is now a wholly owned subsidiary of Austal. Seastate will join with the Austal team to form a resource with a vast knowledge of vessel design and operation that will push the boundaries of motion control development into the future.
When it comes to motion control, Seastate offers operators and shipyards operability and simulation studies, product supply, installation, commissioning and after-sales operational and maintenance support. This makes Seastate a one-stop shop for all your motion control requirements.
For new builds, Seastate offers operability studies and simulations enabling operators to access the suitability of the vessel with or without motion control on a particular route. Where vessels are currently in operation, and passengers and crew comfort levels are unsatisfactory, studies can be undertaken to estimate the amount of improvement that can be obtained by using different types of motion control systems. This ensures that the installation of a motion control system will meet the operators? requirements and, most importantly, the passengers? expectations.
Once a motion control system has been selected for a particular vessel, Seastate is able to provide all the components direct to the shipyard for them to install or the company can be contracted to complete this work. Following installation, Seastate shall conduct suitable harbour trials and then sea trials to ensure that the system is operating at its optimal performance. Finally, Seastate can provide all the operational and maintenance support through the life of the system.
