Bharati bags Norwegian contracts

Bharati Shipyard in Mumbai, India, has bagged contracts from Sea Cargo Skips AS and Nor Lines AS, both from Norway, to supply two multi-purpose container vessels each, with an option for eight more.

The orders calls for four 5,000DWT RORO/Pallet /Container vessels, at a total value of $57.50 million. Sea-Cargo and Nor Lines are operating a fleet of cargo vessels along the Norwegian coastline, the Baltic and the North Sea.

The two first vessel are for Sea-Cargo, followed by two for Nor Lines. The option series, for up to eight additional vessels, are shared between SC and NL. The first vessel is to be delivered by 31 October 2006 and thereafter one vessel every four months.
