Chinese yards ink small boxship orders
SITC Maritime Group has ordered two 378TEU container ships from a Chinese shipbuilder for a total price of $6.9 million. The newbuildings will be 114.8m in length, 16.2m in breadth and 7.8m in depth with a service speed of 13 knots and will be deployed on domestic routes.
Pacific International Line placed a contract with Dalian Shipyard for four 1,800TEU container ships for delivery in 2008 and 2009.
