Q-Ship in VLGC deal

Qatar Shipping Company (Q-Ship) has signed a $1.4bn contract with Hyundai Heavy Industries (HHI) of Korea to design, build, launch, equip and deliver four Very Large Gas Carrier (VLGC) vessels, each of 82,200cu m for delivery in 2008-09. This is part of Q-Ship?s fleet expansion exercise and represents their largest deal ever.

At present, Q-Ship has two 23,000cu m LPG/ammonia carriers and, through the new ships, the company will able to expand its market share.
