Norfolkline to buy Norse Merchant Ferries

Norfolkline, a leading North European multimodal short sea carrier and part of the AP Moller-Maersk Group, has announced its intention to acquire Norse Merchant Ferries, the Irish Sea ro-ro/ferry operator. Should the deal be completed successfully, the proposed acquisition of Norse Merchant Ferries will strengthen Norfolkline?s brand name and and provide an opportunity for further development in the European ro-ro market with both companies have ongoing new building programmes.
