Daewoo clinches German boxships

South Korea’s Daewoo Shipbuilding and Marine Engineering (DSME) has won a contract to build four 3,200TEU container ships worth $249.6 million from German ship owner Hamburg Sud. Delivery of the 22 knot quartet is scheduled by June 2007 and payment would be made in cash. The contract also includes an option for two more units.
