CSSC announces first half result
China State Shipbuilding Corporation announced its first half results reporting that its industrial amounted to $1.9 billion, 24% higher than last year?s figure. Orders for newbuildings were up by 33% to $2.37 billion increasing the order book value to $9.35 billion as at the end of June. For the first half this year, CSSC has delivered 55 ships of 2.9 million DWT and clinched new orders for 42 ships totalling 2.9 million DWT. As at the end of June this year, CSSC has an order backlog of 285 ships totalling 13.1 million DWT.
For the first half this year, CSSC has carried out ship repairs valued at $157 million, a 41.3% increase over last year.
