Volstad PSV for Aker

Aker Yards has signed a contract with Volstad Shipping AS, Ålesund, for the building of a Platform Supply Vessel (PSV) worth $38.2 million. Delivery is scheduled for February 2007 from Brattvaag Skipsverft and the contract includes an option for a sister ship.

The vessel is based on a Skipsteknisk ST 216 L design with focus on environmentally friendly and safe operations. The newbuilding will be 93.4 metres long, 19.2 metres wide, and will have a maximum cargo capacity of 5,000 tonnes. The hull will be built in Romania.
