The Hai Phong-based Pha Rung shipyard, a member of the Vinashin group in Vietnam, signed a contract worth $06 million to build four 34,000 DWT dry bulk carriers for the Graig group of Britain. This deal was first muted in the April 2005 issue of the ?Motor Ship? which reported that a follow-on to the 15-ship Diamond bulk carrier order was likely to involve an order for 32,000 DWT handysize bulkers.

The ships, with a length of 180 m and a width of 30 m, will be the largest ever so far to be built at the Pha Rung shipyard. The first newbuilding will be handed over 18 months after the work starts with the remaining ships delivered at five month intervals.
