Three bid for Oman OPV programme

Three shipbuilders have been invited to present revised proposals for Oman’s Project Khareef Ocean Patrol Vessel (OPV) programme. Schelde Naval Shipbuilding in Netherland, Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering in South Korea and VT Shipbuilding in the UK were, earlier this year, short-listed to enter the final phase of competition for Project Khareef.

This calls for the design, construction and support of three 100 metre long helicopter-capable OPVs for the Royal Navy of Oman in a contract worth over $600 million, including support and training.
