HHI wins 9,700TEU quartet

Hyundai Heavy Industries has clinched four 9,700TEU container ships from C. P. Offen at the price of $ 530 million for delivery by 2008. Ship particulars are 350m in length, 42.8m in breadth and 27.2m in depth. Hyundai will also build the 68,332kW main engines for these newbuildings to give a speed of 25.3 knots.

The German ship owner has already placed orders with Hyundai shipbuilding group (HHI, Hyundai Mipo and Hyundai Samho) for 42 container ships.
