Rem Maritime orders MPSV from Kleven
Kleven Verft in Ulsteinvik, Norway has signed a new contract with Norwegian owner Rem Maritime for delivery of one offshore vessel. The newbuilding is a multi-purpose supply vessel (MPSV) of the MT 6016 design, the second in a row for Rem Maritime, developed in close cooperation between the owner and the yard, and is designed by the Norwegian company MarinTeknikk. The contract value is around $37 million.
The vessel is 92,95m long and with a breadth of 19,70m, and features extensive cargo capacity in tanks and a cargo deck space of 1050 m2. The vessel is due for delivery in September 2006.
The ability to target the subsea market built into this design, makes it a well suited vessel to contract at this point in time. In addition it has a number of features making it well suited for sophisticated logistics services for offshore installations, owner Åge Rem?y states as basis for choice of design.
