SembCorp Marine acquires Sabine

A subsidiary of SembCorp Marine, PPL Shipyard, is acquiring the Texas-based Sabine Shipyard. No financial details were disclosed.

Sabine is a 223-acre shipyard located on the Gulf of Mexico with immediate access to the Texas and Louisiana offshore drilling activities. The yard is involved in the building, repair and refurbishment of drilling rigs. It also provides offshore construction and related fabrication capabilities to drilling contractors located in the Gulf of Mexico region.

The acquisition is in line with SembCorp Marine’s strategy to establish a presence in the Gulf of Mexico region and to establish a hub to grow its offshore business.
