NQEA sold to Viking Industries

NQEA in Queensland, Australia, has finalised the $7 million sale of its Queensland Marine and Industrial (QMI) to Brisbane-based Viking Industries. NQEA has now sold QMI, trading as Cairns Slipways, as well as land and all ship building and repair facilities. Viking also acquired the NQEA brand.

The slipway includes four hectares of waterfront land held under a 45-year lease from the Cairns Port Authority. It also includes a 60-metre dry dock and 1,200 tonne slipway, large vessel berthing facilities and supporting shed infrastructure.
