Awilco orders rig from SembCorp

Singapore-based SembCorp Marine has secured a $144 million rig building contract from Norway’s Awilco Offshore ASA. Under the deal, PPL Shipyard will construct a deep drilling offshore jack-up rig. Construction of the jack-up is expected to commence in the third quarter of 2005, with delivery scheduled at the end of the fourth quarter of 2007.
