NGV Tech in expansion mode

The Malaysian shipbuilder NGV Tech Sdn Bhd plans to expand its shipyard in Sijangkang to cope with the increasing demand for newbuildings. The Sijangkang yard which has the capability to build mainly aluminium vessels, already has its hands full with orders from local and overseas clients, including those from Singapore, Indonesia and West Asia, and its current order book was worth about $200 million. The 4.8-hectare (12-acre) facility was currently able to build 24 units of 34-metre vessels at any one time and aims to increase its output by an additional 20 vessels. NGV Tech will be holding discussions with the Selangor state government on the possibility of acquiring land nearby for its expansion programme.
