California releases report on ballast discharge standards

At its December meeting the California State Lands Commission (SLC) is expected to approve the report to the Legislature titled “Recommendations for Performance Standards for the Discharge of Ballast Water into the Waters of the State”. The report recommends tough interim and final performance standards for existing and newly constructed vessels.
