K Line inks Oshima bulker

“K” Line Bulk Shipping (UK) Ltd, the London-based regional headquarters company of Kawasaki Kisen Kaisha (“K” Line), has ordered a new-design bulk carrier from Oshima Shipbuilding. Developed by the Japanese shipbuilder, the 105,500 DWT bulker will have an overall length of 255 m, a 43 m beam and 7 holds. Delivery is scheduled for the first half of 2009 when the newbuilding will be employed on a 10-year charter with the Italian power company Enel SpA.
