NASSCO to build another T-AKE

The San Diego-based NASSCO shipyard has received another order from the US Navy to build another T-AKE class logistic support supply vessel. This will be the ninth unit for the Navy and the order is worth $317 million bringing the total contract value to $2.8 billion.

The ships are 212 metres long and 32.2 metres wide and can carry 7,000 tonnes of dry cargo and ammunition and 23,500 barrels of marine diesel fuel.
