FBMA and BMT Nigel Gee sign licence agreement
Specialist shipbuilder FBMA Marine Inc (FBMA) and naval architects BMT Nigel Gee and Associates Ltd, a subsidiary of BMT Ltd, have announced the signing of a licence agreement allowing FBMA to market and construct vessels designed by BMT. The Cebu-based shipbuilder is a member of the Aboitiz Group and has a long history of building and delivering high-speed ferries, medium-speed ferries, patrol vessels and specialist work boats. FBMA is currently contracted to build crew vessels for Lockheed Martin and for Australian operators of Ropax ferries.
BMT is an established leader in the design of work boats, high-speed ferries, naval vessels, patrol vessels and innovative vessels for a variety of applications and has supplied designs to over 140 vessel build contracts, with designs comprising all types of hull forms as well as steel and aluminium constructions.
