Bulyard on FREMM short-list

Bulgarian company Bulyard Shipbuilding Industries (BSI) has been short-listed as subcontractor by France’s Armaris. The 100 million euro contract with BSI will be part of the French-Italian defence partnership on Fregate Europeene Multi-Mission (FREMM) frigates and would involve building the hulls of the FREMMs. Bulyard was short-listed after undergoing a comprehensive audit at the hands of leading French defence companies in late 2005. BSI has bought the licensing rights for the naval architectural program Tribon for the purposes of the Armaris contract. If successful, BSI will be positioned as a shipbuilding, repair and maintenance centre for the navies of Black Sea and Mediterranean countries.
