Awilco orders rig

Singapore-based SembCorp Marine says its PPL Shipyard has won a rig job worth between $132 million and $142 million from Norwegian company Awilco Offshore ASA. Rig construction is expected to start in May 2006 with delivery scheduled in the second quarter of 2008. The rig will be able to drill high-pressure wells at 30,000 feet while operating in 375 feet of water, SembCorp Marine said.
