Croatia to restructure shipbuilding industry
The Croatian Privatisation Fund has opened submitted offers for the selection of a consultancy firm to advise the Croatian Government on the development of a national program for restructuring the country?s shipbuilding industry.
All five consultancy companies submitted bids and comprised of the merged First Marine International and Roland Berger Strategy Consultants, HypoVereinsbank, McKinsey, the Swedish consortium Lagerkvist&Partners and Austrian Fraunhofer Project Group. The Swedish consortium is one of the largest international specialised consultancies in the sphere of shipbuilding and includes Nordea bank, the largest commercial bank in Scandinavia and also the largest shipbuilding investor in the world.
Financial part of submitted offers remained sealed until creation of a shortlist of candidates to be established by the Government upon studying the technical part of all submitted offers, which should be completed by June this year. Since this competition and the whole consequent project is financed by the World Bank, this procedure must be completely transparent and strictly controlled, while conditions of the competition and scoring of technical documentation are transparent and do not allow any shadow play.
