Donbas, a Ukrainian steel producer, is considering investing in the Polish shipyard of Stocznia Gdynia (SG). Their proposition is expected next week and SG needs $96 million in capital. Donbas has long declared its interest in the Polish shipyard industry.

Until recently, an Israeli ship owner, Rami Ungar (20% stake in SG), was considered to be the potential main investor. Some 80 companies were recently sent invitations to submit their letters of intent to buy Stocznia Gdynia.
