?K? Line orders more boxships

Kawasaki Kisen Kaisha, Ltd. (“K” Line) has placed orders for five 6.400 TEU container ships with the Japanese shipbuilder Imabari Shipbuilding Co., Ltd. (Koyo Dockyard Co., Ltd.). These newbuildings are scheduled for delivery by mid 2010 and will enable ?K? Line to make further improvements in its service quality and competitiveness in East-West trades. The main specification of these boxships is an overall length of 293 metres, a width of 40 metres, a 12.5 metre draught and a service speed of 26 knots.
