Incat giants for Japan
Australian fast ferry builder Incat has won orders for two 112m long craft from Japan?s Libera Corp.
Incat?s largest units to date, the two new catamarans, for delivery in June 2007 and mid 2008 respectively, will be able to carry up to 800 passengers and 412 cars or 520 lane metres of trucks and 286 cars at around 40 knots.
The owner is a new customer for Incat and will operate the catamarans on its Hakodate to Aomori service, halving the voyage time compared with existing ships.
