Hellespont Pride named

Hellespont Hammonia, a joint venture between the Piraeus-based Hellespont Group and the Hamburg shipowner Peter Doehle Schiffahrts KG, has completed the naming of the Hellespont Pride, one of six tankers under construction for the company at New Century Shipbuilding in Jingjiang, China.

The 73,400 dwt Panamax product carrier, the first in the series originally ordered by Seatramp Tankers in 2004, will be chartered by Sanko Steamship Co Ltd of Tokyo, Japan and managed by Hellespont Hammonia.

The 228.60 m long and newbuilding has a cargo capacity of 85,300 cubic metres and is powered by a MAN B&W 5S60MC-C main engine with an output of 13,830 bhp at 101.4 rpm. The vessel will be ABS-classed and registered in the Marshall Islands.
