Offshore crane barge for Ezra

Singapore?s Ezra Holdings Limited said its wholly-owned subsidiary, Lewek Shipping Pte Ltd, has awarded a contract to Labroy Shipbuilding Offshore Ltd for the building of a 92.3 metre accommodation work and crane barge at a contractual value of $8.85 million. This excludes the cost of certain owner furnished equipment.

When completed, the barge will not only boost a heavy lift pedestal crane and

helideck suitable for landing of a Sikorsky (or equivalent) helicopter but also be

able to accommodate 300 workmen. Delivery is scheduled in January/February 2007.

The barge will augment the offshore construction division of the Ezra Group comprising the heavy lift crane barge “Lewek Conqueror” and the 142-m DP2 heavy lift 360-men accommodation pipelay vessel complemented by Ezra?s fabrication, logistics and training base in Vietnam.
