Esnaad orders five

The Abu Dhabi-based Adnoc subsidiary Esnaad, a marine and supply base services company, has ordered five new vessels from Singapore at a cost of $60 million as part of its fleet replacement. The fleet replacement process is ongoing to meet the expansion needs of the company.

The five new vessels consisting of two anchor handling supply vessels and three work boats will be built by Singapore-based Labroy Shipbuilding and Engineering. Deliveries are expected to be in 2008.

Esnaad took delivery of two new vessels yesterday, both, anchor handling tug supply vessels built by Singapore-based Otto Engineering at a cost of $24 million. The new, multi-purpose vessels will replace smaller vessels and they are essentially supply and anchor handling vessels and are also used to tow rigs and other purposes.

Currently, the company owns a fleet of 26 multipurpose vessels and manages nine chartered vessels offering services to major clients, mainly Adnoc companies.

Esnaad will also take delivery of a 40-metre crew boat from Abu Dhabi Ship Building in April next year. The $4.9 million contract was awarded last year to ADSB to design and build the crew boat.
