Mississippi shipyard awarded $200M contract

The US Navy has awarded a $200 million contract to Pascagoula-based shipbuilder VT Halter Marine for construction of a vessel that will carry high-tech radar equipment to monitor ballistic missile activity. The 700-foot vessel will carry 88 crew members and be capable of performing its mission in waves as high as 13-feet.
