Baltic yard launched Stena Ro-Ro

The second ocean-going ropax ship was launched at the Baltic Shipyard JSC and delivered to Stena. Named “Stena Transformer”, this is the second in a two-ship series with the lead-ship “Stena Trader” going into service in August 2006. The vessel is designed for the transportation of trailers and passengers. The contract is worth $40 million and the fitting out is to be done at Fosen Mekaniske Verksteder A/S in Norway.

The vessel is 212 metres long, 26.7 metres wide and has a service speed of 22 knots.
