Troms orders MPSV from Kleven

Kleven Verft in Ulsteinvik, Norway, has signed a contract with Troms Offshore in Troms?, Norway for the building of a new, sophisticated offshore vessel. The vessel is a Multifunctional Platform Supply Vessel (MPSV) of the VS 495 DEM CD Mk II design, and is the first vessel Troms Offshore has ordered from Kleven Verft. The vessel is designed by the Norwegian design company Vik Sandvik.

The contract value is $58 million and delivery is scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2009. The newbuilding is 95.3m long, with a beam of 21m and features large cargo capacity below deck, a working deck of 1030 m2 and accommodation for 60 persons.

“VS 495 DEM CD Mk II is characterized by a unique and environmental friendly propulsion system, and features Clean Design class notation. This was decisive in our choice of vessel”, states Vice President ?sten Mortvedt on the new addition to the company?s fleet.
