ABG bags Singapore order

ABG Shipyard in Mumbai, the largest private sector shipyard in India, has bagged a $229 million order from Singapore-based Pacific First Shipping Pte for 12 vessels.

The order is for the construction of nine Anchor Handling Tug Supply (AHTS) vessels and three 54,000 DWT bulk carriers and the last delivery would be in December 2009. With this order, ABG Shipyard has started accepting orders for its new Dahej Shipyard where it can build vessels up to 120,000 DWT. Five of the AHTS vessels will have a 82 bollard pull while the other four will have a 180 ton capacity.

Pacific First Shipping Pte is involved in offshore business and bulk segment and is currently implementing a fleet expansion programme.
