Double christening for Hamburg Sud

The 50,800 DWT container vessels ?Bahia? and ?Bahia Blanca? built for Hamburg Sud have been christened at the yard of Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering (DSME) in Okpo, Korea.

The two new ?Bahia? and ?Bahia Blanca? are the first of a total of 6 identical 3,752 TEU container ships measuring 254 metres long, 32.20 metres wide, a maximum draught of 12.40 metres and a service speed of 21.5 knots. Shortly after christening, they will be phased into Hamburg Sud’s liner services between Asia and South America East Coast.
