HHI achieved milestone
HHI?s Engine & Machinery Division has maintained its steady annual growth sine starting up the production of medium-speed (4-stroke) diesel engines in 1990. The company has rapidly increased its capacity since 2000, when the division expanded the production facilities for its HiMSEN medium-speed diesel engines in order to meet the increasing demand in the global shipbuilding market and land-based power generation.
The division plans to produce 1,050 units or 2.9 million bhp of 4-stroke engines this year.
HHI?s Engine & Machinery Division is the world?s largest marine engine maker, taking up about 35% market share and, in November 2007, it will mark a milestone of 70 million bhp of low-speed (2-stroke) marine engine for the first time in the world since the production of its first marine diesel engine in 1979.
