Myklebust wins local PSV contract
The Myklebust Verft shipyard in Gurske, Norway, has signed a contract with Aries Offshore Services (formerly S. Ugelstad Rederi AS) in Ålesund for the building of one platform supply vessel.
The PSV type VS 470 MK II, has been developed in close cooperation between the yard and the owner, and is designed by Vik-Sandvik, Norway. The 73.4 metre long vessel will have width of 16.6 metres and a service speed of 14.5 knots. The accommodation is arranged for up to 34 persons.
Including this contract, Aries Offshore Services will have a fleet of 6 modern platform supply vessels. The contract value is NOK 186 million and delivery will take place in September 2008.
Myklebust Verft, of the Kleven Maritime group, now has 10 vessels on its order books, at a contract value of NOK 1,9 billion.
