Vinashin starts construction of handymax

Construction of a 54,000 dwt bulk carrier worth $30 million was started recently at the Ha Long Shipyard, a Vinashin subsidiary in north-eastern Quang Ninh province. The H172 vessel will be 190 m long and 32,26 m wide and was designed by the Science and Technology Institute of Viet Nam Shipbuilding Industry. It will be classed by DNV. Delivery to Vinashin Ocean Shipping Company is scheduled in March 2008.
