STX reveals new orders

STX Shipbuilding in South Korea has secured orders valued at $290 million.

The shipbuilder won two 74,000DWT product carriers from Formosa Plastic with delivery of second half of 2009. Ship particulars are 228m in length, 32.3m in breadth and 20.6m in depth.

Two 46,000DWT product carriers from STX Pan Ocean will be delivered during first half of 2008. Ship particulars are 183m in length, 32.2m in breadth and 19.1m in depth with a speed of 14.1 knots. In addition, the shipbuilder scooped an order for four 13,000DWT chemical tankers from Benelux Overseas in Greece and Ocean Tankers Holding in Cyprus. Ship particulars are 120m in length, 20.4m in breadth and 11.9m in depth with a service speed of 13.6 knots. They will be delivered from second half of 2008 to first half of 2009.
