Goodearth bulk contract awarded to HSL

Goodearth Maritime Ltd of Chennai has placed an order for 16 new bulk carriers totalling 760,000 dwt with Hindustan Shipyard Limited (HSL), Visakhapatnam. The company is currently operating five bulk carriers with combined capacity of 230,000 dwt.

Goodearth’s order is valued at Rs1,000 crore for the first phase of 10 vessels aggregating to 440,000 dwt. In the second phase, the order is worth Rs750 crore for six vessels of 53,000 dwt each. All the vessels will be delivered by 2017.
