Ren Etive comes on stream

Aberdeen-based marine and subsea support specialist TSMarine (Contracting) Ltd has taken delivery of its new offshore support vessel, Rem Etive. The multi-purpose vessel was delivered from the Kleven shipyard in Norway last week to owner Rem Maritime and shortly thereafter was berthed in Aberdeen Harbour.

TSMarine has the vessel on a five-year charter from Rem Maritime and will be deploying her on various projects and contracts, mainly in the North Sea. With accommodation for 100 people, the vessel has been configured to undertake diverless subsea decommissioning and intervention activities; rigless well intervention services, wellhead and subsea infrastructure abandonment, subsea tree change-out and subsea construction support activities.

Rem Etive has been built to the Marin Teknikk MT 6016 design and meets the new and demanding Clean Comfort V Norwegian standards. TSMarine?s two new SMDH Quantum WROV 150hp systems (Quantum 5 and Quantum 6) have been integrated on to the REM Etive, with control systems built into the vessel.

TSMarine recently also took delivery of Havila Harmony, which is also on a five-year long-term charter. The company has also bought two further specialist vessels, the first of which will be delivered in December 2008 with the second to follow in April 2009, which will both be permanently owned by TSMarine.

These MT6040 type vessels are also designed by Norwegian naval architects Marin Teknikk and will be built at the Astilleros Huelva shipyard in Spain.
