Halul Offshore receives new vessel

Halul Offshore Services Company (HOSC) in Doha received delivery of their newly-built DP1 Anchor Handling Tug supply vessel ?Halul 26?. The vessel was built by Q-Con at Mesaieed, Qatar, a Shipyard owned by Qatar Shipping Company.

This newbuilding is the first of two DP1 AHTSV ordered by HOSC as a part of a long term contract with Aramco in Saudi Arabia. The second vessel is expected to join HOSC fleet in another 7 months time.

Halul 26 is designed for multi-role activities of towing, supply, fire fighting, rescue operations and standby safety duties. Classed by Lloyds Register, the newbuilding is powered by a 6,000 BHP diesel power plant giving a bollard pull of 65 tons. The vessel is fitted with two bow thrusters and one stern thruster of 500 KW each for better manoeuvrability and station keeping. The vessel can carry a deadweight of 1,750 tonnes.
