Cameroon shipyard works progressing

Work at the Limbe shipyard project, the second biggest infrastructural venture in Cameroon after the Chad-Cameroon pipeline, is running on schedule. Good progress has been made as work on the 700m x 8m breakwater, whose construction works commenced in February 2005, has been completed using an estimated 1.5 million tonnes of rock and 50,000m3 of top soil.

With the completion of the breakwater valued at $42 million and considered as technically the most challenging part of the project. It is estimated that the overall project execution level now stands at more than 60 % with over 80 % of the total marine works fully executed.
