Oman to build new repair yard

South Korea?s largest construction company, Daewoo Engineering & Construction (Daewoo E&C) has clinched a $443-million contract to build a shipyard in Oman jointly with an Oman-based builder. The ship repair yard is to be built in the port of Duqm on the southeastern coast of Oman. Daewoo E&C holds a 59.07% stake in the order, equivalent to $262 million, and Galfar Engineering and Contracting Co. has the rest. The report did not disclose when construction of the new ship repair yard will start.
