Daewoo Shipbuilding and Marine Engineering (DSME) expects demand for LNG carriers to slow this year because of delays in LNG projects. Daewoo may get orders for between 10 and 15 LNG carriers in 2008, Park Jae Sung, manager of the company’s gas-carrier marketing team, said at the Gastech conference in Bangkok. Last year, the company received orders for 10 LNG ships and, so far this year, it has won contracts to build two LNG carriers.
