ST-design for Sea4

Grimstad based ship owner Sea4 has ordered two ROV/ light construction vessels of Skipsteknisk design ST-254L CD at Freire Shipyard in Vigo, Spain. In all Skipsteknisk have currently 8 designs under construction in Spain.

The new vessels will be delivered in February and August 2010 respectively. They are not committed yet, but the owners are optimistic as the market is good and the delivery times should be attractive. ST-254L CD has length of 110m, a beam of 20m and is fitted with a 150t offshore crane, has accommodation for 120 men and a 1000m2 deck space. Sea4 has selected Voith Schneider Propellers (VSP) as main propulsion, due to the excellent maneuverability properties.

As for any modern vessel, environmental issues have been addressed in the design through installation of SCR catalyst, clean design and optimized hull lines for reduced fuel oil consumption. Through the developing process, the owners focus has also been to provide a safe, comfortable and attractive working platform for the intended services.
